Synthesis: Community and Campus Integration
La Presa Community Campus (LPCC) / 2020
Detention facilities are left isolated, out of sight from our communities and this does not allow for a successful reintegration for the users. This opposition deters their development and increases their likelihood of being part of the high recidivism statistics. In order to successfully reintegrate, a community campus must be implemented into the system which consists of allowing the residents to amass with community members and students in a neutral space to get an education, providing a community center on the campus, and a 3-year transitional program to make the campus more successful. |
